Mary E. Mies  1916-1998


Mary E. Mies, 82, passed away at St. James Hospital, Pontiac, Illinois, on January 29, 1998. She was born Mary Nolan, in Pontiac, Illinois, on January 25, 1916. She married Leslie D. Mies on May 15, 1942. He died in 1990. She leaves two children, William (Bill), College Station Texas, Ann Finnegan, Pontiac, Illinois, and five grandchildren.

Mary and Les lived and farmed northwest of Fairbury, Illinois, for over forty years. Mary was not only a farm housewife, but worked side by side on the farm with her husband. She was an active member of the St. John's Altar and Rosary Society in Fairbury, and the Livingston County Home Bureau for many years. She also was the accountant for the Mies Heirs Farm.

Mary moved from the farmstead in 1994 to Evenglow Lodge, in Pontiac, Illinois.
